What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a science, art and a philosophy. The science is the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). A VSC is when one or more of the bones in your spine, whether in your neck, mid-back, lower-back or pelvis, goes out of alignment and impinges or simply puts pressure on a nerve. This nerve impingement or pressure may or may not cause pain, but it will interfere with the normal communication. This is a two way communication. Messages are being sent from the brain out to the body and from the body to the brain. For example, if there is a VSC of the nerves going to the heart, then the communication going to the heart or from the heart may be altered, causing a state of disease. Likewise, if you are a football player and your balance is just slightly off due to a VSC (it may not even be noticeable to the untrained eye), it can mean the difference between scoring a touchdown and winning the game or falling inches before the goal line and losing the game.
The art of chiropractic is how your doctor of chiropractic corrects your VSC. At Back In Line Chiropractic Center we use a multitude of techniques to correct one’s VSC. We make an attempt to tailor our adjustments for each patient. We believe not everybody is the same, so everybody should not get the same exact adjustment. Different techniques work better for different people.
The philosophy behind chiropractic is simple; take out of your body what does not belong (such as heavy metals), put into your body what it needs (such as vitamins), be under regular chiropractic care (maintenance care) and live a healthy life-style. A healthy life-style should entail balance. Balance between diet, exercise, spiritually, mental health and just having fun.
At Back In Line Chiropractic Center we do our best to help our patients to achieve a high state of health, not just the absence of disease. We have advanced our education and will continue to do so on a yearly basis, to offer you, our patient, the very best that chiropractic has to offer.
May God bless you !
